The Dayton Metro Library, in partnership with the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce and Montgomery County Educational Service Center, hosted their 4th Annual Career Adventures Days (CAD) on November 28th, 29th, and 30th at the main library branch downtown Dayton. This three day event provides students from across the Miami Valley Region opportunities to learn about in-demand careers through hands-on and engaging activities. Throughout the event, students were able to engage in one-on-one conversations with representatives from local companies as well as try their hand at a variety of job-specific activities. This year, nearly 760 middle school students from Dayton Public Schools and West Carrollton City Schools participated in CAD.
“The Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce sees the value in exposing students to in-demand careers in our region. Our hope is by participating in events such as CAD we are able to retain students in the Dayton Region by connecting them to successful career paths. We are proud to support this initiative and will continue to create partnerships that build a strong workforce for our region.” – Amanda Byers, Director of Talent and Policy, Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce.
This event would not be possible without the support of our many community partners. These organizations donated their time, skills, and expertise to showcase their careers and answer student’s questions regarding future opportunities.
