Dayton Area Chamber recommits to downtown Dayton with office move announcement

DAYTON, Ohio (February 21, 2019) – After more than 30 years serving the Dayton region’s business community from its current office space in the Dayton Convention Center, the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce has announced it will continue its commitment to Dayton’s central business district by moving closer to the heart of downtown. The chamber will soon call 8 N. Main Street home.

“The Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce has been a part of the fabric of downtown Dayton for more than 112 years. Now is the perfect time to reinvigorate our mission and meet the new generation of business leaders where they are,” said Phil Parker, president & CEO, Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce.

The chamber’s investment in downtown is complimented by several recent business commitments, including announcements from companies such as Stratacache, Taylor Communications and CareSource to bring jobs downtown.

“We’re seeing innovation and big ideas flourish in our region’s core, and we want to be there, visibly supporting our member businesses and leading the way in economic development, workforce attraction and retention, advocacy, best practice sharing and more,” said Parker.

The chamber’s move has been well coordinated with the City of Dayton Leadership, which has been extremely supportive.

In addition, the chamber’s new space will provide for the collaboration of three of the region’s economic development-driven organizations. The Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce will occupy the first floor of the office space at 8 N. Main and will call CityWide and The Port Authority neighbors, as both organizations are currently housed on the second floor of the building. This strategic co-location will allow for better collaboration between the organizations as they serve our businesses and work to grow investment in the Dayton region.

“Our new space will allow for more communication and collaboration both internally, and with these partners, which will make us stronger,” Parker said. “We will be better able to join efforts to speak as the voice of business and leverage our strengths to serve our business community.”

According to the Downtown Dayton Partnership, more than 800 employers now call downtown Dayton home. The Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce looks forward to adding to the vibrancy of the epicenter of that growth.

The chamber is expected to take occupancy of the new space in the fall of 2019.
