Gen D Ignite focuses on leadership development, community engagement, and professional relationship building in this 7-month cohort experience. Upon selection, participants will be immersed in full day trainings each month that include professional development workshops, leadership sessions with local business leaders, hands-on education sessions, mentoring, and more. Each cohort will also have the opportunity to dive deeply into a community volunteer project that will be incorporated into each day session. This opportunity is designed for early career professionals looking to ignite their leadership journey.
The Ideal Candidate
The Ideal Gen D Ignite candidate is an early career professional in the Dayton region seeking professional advancement, personal growth and a desire to become more deeply imbedded in the community. We’re looking for professionals who seek to build strong relationships with other advancing leaders and are eager to explore content specifically designed to help them meet their personal and professional goals. This program is designed to be experiential and hands-on, with a small cohort to foster connection & learning, and opportunities to connect with leaders and organizations from across the community.
As our work cultures continue to shift and evolve, more employees than ever before are reporting feeling isolated, burned out, stressed and less supported in the workplace. These feelings are especially acute with our Gen Z & Millennial workforce, who see less opportunity to build peer support networks, experience less stable working environments and fewer opportunities to “stand out” at work.
At the same time, many of our employers’ report feeling frustrated at their inability to retain the best talent in the Dayton region, and fear losing promising rising leaders to other communities and other states.
With Gen D Ignite, the Dayton Area Chamber will provide a meaningful and in-depth professional development program that seeks to increase connectedness, supports participant growth and leadership skill development and expands local opportunities for Dayton’s early career professionals. Ultimately, our goal is to help participants envision a future where they can grow, and THRIVE, in their career in Dayton.
