Chamber Committees

Your chamber offers dozens of volunteer positions on committees, sub-committees, task forces and boards and would love to add you to the rosters. The opportunities are broad; at any given time, over 300 volunteers are engaged. Please take a moment to learn more about the committees and volunteer opportunities available in the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce.

Audit & Finance Committee

This committee provides oversight for the development of information pertaining to all financial and payroll record keeping systems and policies & procedures. The committee meets at least five times a year.

Board of Trustees

Consists of up to 50 community business leaders who carry out the business of the chamber according to our Bylaws. Meets quarterly during the months of February, May, August and November.

Economic & Workforce Development Oversight

Reviews and provides guidance for the economic development, workforce development and research activities of the chamber.

Advocates for business needs at Dayton International Airport and provides a business voice to airport vendors and decision makers.

Dayton Area Logistics Committee

Provides guidance and industry insight for the Dayton Area Logistics Association as it chooses and executes priority initiatives that encourage industry growth. This committee meets bi-monthly.

Dayton/Miami Valley Safety Steering Committee

Oversees the operations of the safety programs offered by the chamber. The Dayton/Miami Valley Safety Council enhances a safe and healthy environment in the workplace through education, networking, Information Systems, and advocacy.

Oversees the Empower cohort experience, from speaker and content choices to securing the program calendar.

EPI Foundation Board of Trustees

Reviews the activities of the Education & Public Improvement (EPI) Foundation, approves policy decisions and actions, and approves & monitors budget, grants, awards, and designated fund activities. Committee meets quarterly.

Executive Committee

Made up of the officers of the Board of Trustees and at least three other Trustees. It shall possess and exercise the powers of the Board of Trustees between meetings of the Board. The Executive Committee meets monthly.

Oversees the Executive Women’s Council experience, from speaker and content choices to securing opportunities for professional networking.

Generation Dayton Steering Committee

The feedback and recommendations received by this committee ensure that the events and activities related to Generation Dayton (GenD) support the mission and strategic objectives of the chamber.

Golf Outing Committee

Responsible for planning and securing the financial resources necessary to host the annual chamber golf outing. The committee meets approximately 20 times a year.

Governance Committee

Acts as the oversight for the development of a plan to ensure the continued elected or appointed leadership is in place as well as written guidelines by which the chamber will conduct business.

Devoted to retaining and boosting Leadership Dayton Alumni Association membership and engagement.

Leadership Dayton Curriculum Review Committee

Each year, the Leadership Dayton class selects a class project to be completed before graduation in June. This committee regularly reviews that curriculum.

Responsible for recommending positions and strategizing the chamber’s advocacy efforts on a wide range of business-related public policy issues. The committee supports initiatives that foster a strong economic climate and encourage business growth and development.

Acts as the oversight for planning and implementing an ongoing marketing and communications program that meets chamber membership retention goals and ensures an effective internal communications program. Meets quarterly.

Member Outreach Committee

Outreach to chamber members to maintain good relationships. Expand the chamber brand and awareness in the business community. Assist the members’ ability to expand their networks and customer base.

Membership Oversight Committee

Oversees the development and implementation of the policies and procedures pertaining to the retention and growth of membership in the organization. The committee meets quarterly prior to the chamber’s Board of Trustees meetings.

Military Advocacy Committee

Responsible for providing guidance to the chamber’s public policy staff on a wide range of local, state and federal issues that are important to the future success of Wright Patterson Air Force Base.

Minority Business Partnership Leadership Council

Represents the Dayton region’s business community and helps ensure the strategic objectives of MBP are achieved.

Volunteerism Committee

Ensures the volunteer experience is productive and enjoyable and the volunteers are recognized for their efforts. The chamber works with more than 400 volunteers on an annual basis.
